IMDEA Energy in Madrid seeks a Senior Researcher to lead modeling and simulation of Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) within the Nuclear Technology Unit. You will drive research lines from reactor physics to digital twins and participate in national and international projects.

You will coordinate postdocs and technical staff, contribute to strategic roadmaps, and disseminate results through publications and conferences.

Formación

PhD in Nuclear Engineering, Nuclear Physics, Reactor Physics, Energy Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related fields.
Demonstrable postdoctoral research experience of at least 10 years in nuclear technology, computational simulation, or related disciplines.
Experience in national, European, or international R&D projects related to modeling, simulation, nuclear safety, or fuel cycles.
Experience supervising research or technical personnel.
Fluent oral and written communication skills in English.

Responsabilidades

Define and implement the scientific strategy for modeling and simulation of SMR nuclear reactors.
Develop advanced capabilities for comprehensive modeling and simulation of SMRs from nuclear data to reactor behavior.
Lead activities within your research line and coordinate staff supervision.
Collaborate with regulatory bodies, nuclear authorities, universities, and industry on safety studies.
Secure funding through European, national, and regional projects and R&D contracts.
Disseminate results via publications, reports, conferences, and technology transfer.
