Novartis in Barcelona is seeking a Senior Python Developer to power the Digital Finance initiatives. You will design and deliver enterprise-grade Python applications that leverage AI, ML, and analytics, collaborating with global teams to drive better business decisions.

The role combines software engineering, cloud technologies, and data science, with emphasis on scalable architectures, secure APIs, and modern DevOps practices.

Formación

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience developing enterprise-grade Python applications in complex environments.
• Strong API design and microservices experience.
• Experience with cloud platforms, ideally AWS.
• Solid knowledge of SQL, software architecture, and clean coding.
• Experience with containers, automated testing, and CI/CD.

About The Role

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable Python applications that support Artificial Intelligence and advanced Finance solutions.
• Build secure, maintainable backend services and application programming interfaces for enterprise platforms.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists to operationalize Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence solutions.
• Develop cloud-native applications and integrations using modern cloud and container technologies.
• Optimize application performance, reliability, and scalability for business-critical workloads.
• Drive engineering excellence through automated testing, code reviews, and Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery practices.
• Contribute to technical architecture decisions and mentor developers on software engineering best practices.

Essential Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience developing enterprise-grade Python applications in complex business environments.
• Strong expertise in designing and building application programming interfaces and microservices.
• Experience working with cloud platforms, preferably Amazon Web Services.
• Solid knowledge of Structured Query Language, software architecture, and clean coding principles.
• Demonstrated experience with container technologies, automated testing, and Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery practices.

Desirable Requirements

• Experience working with Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or Data Engineering teams in production environments.
• Exposure to Large Language Models, Microsoft Copilot, or Agentic Artificial Intelligence frameworks.

Expected Annual Base Salary Range for role: €42,600.00 to €79,200.00

The base salary offered is determined based on gender-neutral objectives, such as relevant skills, competencies and experience in accordance with the Novartis pay setting policy and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically.

In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for a performance-based bonus depending on certain performance parameters.
