Lingo in Barcelona seeks a Senior Software Engineer (Backend) to design, build, and optimize backend systems handling real-time biosensor data. You will develop scalable microservices, APIs, and event-driven integrations across cloud deployments, collaborating with Product, Platform/SRE, and Data/ML teams.

You will mentor junior engineers, participate in architecture reviews, and enforce security and privacy standards (HIPAA/GDPR).

Formación

5-8 years of backend engineering experience with distributed, cloud-native systems.
Strong API design skills (REST; GraphQL/gRPC a plus).
Hands-on proficiency with Kubernetes in production environments.
Experience with messaging/streaming systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
Programming expertise in Java, Kotlin, Python.
Knowledge of HIPAA/GDPR compliance and secure coding practices.

Responsabilidades

Design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices and APIs for real-time data processing.
Implement event-driven integrations with messaging systems and analytics pipelines.
Collaborate with SRE to ensure observability, performance, and reliability.
Participate in architecture reviews, define service boundaries and data models.
Optimize services for low latency, high throughput, and cost efficiency.
Apply privacy-by-design and security standards per HIPAA/GDPR.
Write clean, testable code and uphold engineering standards.
Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and pair programming.
Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to incident response.
