Lingo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Backend) to design, build, and optimize scalable backend systems for its cutting-edge digital health platform. You will implement high‑performance APIs, event‑driven services, and data integrations across global deployments.

You’ll work closely with Product, Mobile, Platform/SRE, and Data/ML teams to deliver reliable cloud‑native services, mentor junior engineers, and uphold privacy and security standards, including HIPAA and GDPR.

Formación

• 5-8 years of backend engineering experience with distributed, cloud-native systems.
• Strong knowledge of microservices architecture and API design.
• Experience with Kubernetes in production.
• Hands-on experience with messaging systems like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, or Python.
• Knowledge of HIPAA/GDPR and secure coding practices.

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices and APIs for real‑time biosensor data processing.
• Implement event‑driven integrations with messaging/streaming systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ) and analytics pipelines.
• Collaborate with SRE to ensure observability, performance, and operational excellence.
• Participate in architecture reviews and define service boundaries and data models.
• Optimize backend services for low latency, high throughput, and cost efficiency.
• Apply privacy‑by‑design and HIPAA/GDPR compliance requirements.
• Write clean, maintainable code and uphold engineering standards.
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and knowledge sharing.
• Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to incident response.
