Job summary

Wire is seeking a Senior Product Security Engineer to join our Information Security Team in a remote EU setup with periodic travel to Berlin. You will drive product and platform security across authentication, encryption, data handling and APIs, working closely with engineering, product, and other teams.

You will review changes for security or privacy implications, contribute to risk assessments and threat modelling, and help maintain certifications and security documentation.

Qualifications

• Proficient in secure SDLC, threat modelling, and security architecture reviews.
• Experience assessing security and privacy risks in product features (auth, encryption, data handling, APIs).
• Knowledge of cloud security fundamentals (AWS) and infra tools (Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm).
• Experience with security certifications/compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, GDPR).
• Strong communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• CKS or other security/DevOps certifications.
• Familiar with GitHub, Jira and Confluence.

Responsibilities

• Review security- or privacy-critical changes and propose solutions.
• Maintain product security documentation focusing on certifications.
• Communicate security topics with internal and external stakeholders.
• Support new feature development from a security perspective.
• Contribute to internal security audits, risk assessments, and threat modelling workshops.
• Conduct security awareness trainings.
• Oversee Platform Security controls and incident management.
• Assist with due diligence to ensure compliance with information security and data protection.
• Maintain documentation of security/privacy processes.
• Support identity and access management.
• Drive SecOps for the Platform.
