Macadam is seeking a Senior Product Engineer - React Native to build and evolve our mobile app and back-end interfaces. THE ROLE

As a Senior Product Engineer - React Native, you'll build our React Native app, and you won't stop at the screen. When a feature needs a new endpoint, a schema change or a config in the back-office, you build that too.

You'll join a small, product-minded team where engineers own what they build, from the first technical decisions to the release and beyond.

This role is based in Barcelona. We're looking for candidates who are already living in the city or ready to relocate.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Build and maintain features in our React Native app, with high performance, smooth animations and pixel-perfect UI.
• Go beyond the app when a feature needs it: design API contracts, write endpoints in NestJS, evolve data models in PostgreSQL.
• Lead projects end to end: technical approach, scope trade-offs, delivery and release.
• Test what you ship and keep the quality bar high.
• Review code and help raise the standards of the team.
• Contribute to tech debt, performance and tooling.
• Use AI every day in your workflow.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on mobile.
• Deep knowledge of React Native and TypeScript, with apps shipped to production at scale.
• Hands-on backend experience with Node.js, ideally NestJS: building REST APIs and working with a relational database.
• Comfortable owning a feature end to end, including the decisions on scope, the release and what happens after it.
• A testing mindset: you write the tests and don't count on someone else to find your bugs.
• Daily, confident use of AI coding agents, and the judgement to direct and review them.
• Product sense: you care about why we build something, not only how.
• Fluent in English.
