Job summary

Ailin.health is seeking a Senior PHP Backend engineer with 5+ years of experience to join our Madrid team as a technical reference across projects. You will shape the backend stack, mentor teammates, and collaborate with a systems engineer to ensure performance, security, and reliability.

Responsibilities include applying solid OOP principles, integrating MongoDB and AWS services, and implementing robust authentication and authorization across microservices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a PHP Developer.
• Strong proficiency in PHP, both native and using frameworks.
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases (MongoDB).
• Solid understanding and application of object-oriented programming (OOP).
• Proficiency with Git-based workflows.
• Familiarity with cloud computing, especially on the AWS platform.
• Experience with authentication and authorization systems in distributed applications.
• Experience with AWS Cognito or similar identity providers will be highly valued.
• Familiarity with secure development practices.
• Knowledge of server management and system architecture.
• Proactive mindset, able to find solutions independently and work autonomously.
• Organized, pragmatic, and open-minded when approaching technical challenges.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project-dedicated team and broader technology team.
• Support and guide other team members in achieving goals throughout the project.
• Maintain and optimize the technological stack, ensuring high performance, security and reliability with a systems engineer.
• Apply object-oriented programming principles to improve code quality and maintainability.
• Work across multiple applications and microservices within the platform.
• Participate in implementing and maintaining authentication and authorization mechanisms across the system.
• Utilize Git and Notion to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
