Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering, Physics, or closely related field with 10+ years of experience; Master’s 8+ years; PhD 6+ years.
• Experience in radiation shielding design, source term development, and dose assessment.
• Proficiency with radiation transport and dose analysis tools (MCNP, SCALE, ADVANTG, GALE, ARCON96, RADTRAD).
• Familiarity with NRC licensing processes and NUREG-0800 Chapters 11 and 12.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.
• Programming or scripting experience (e.g., Python).

Aufgaben

• Develop radiation source terms for normal operation, anticipated events, and postulated accidents.
• Perform radiation transport analyses to evaluate dose rates in plant systems, structures, and components.
• Design and optimize shielding to meet occupational dose limits per ALARA.
• Conduct radiological consequences and control room habitability analyses using regulatory methods.
• Evaluate reactor pressure vessel and structural component fluence for shielding and material assessments.
• Benchmark analytical models against experimental data and industry guidance.
• Prepare technical reports and licensing documentation (PSAR, FSAR, RAIs).
• Participate in technical meetings with teams, partners, clients, and NRC.
• Mentor junior engineers and help develop analysis standards and documentation practices.
