Job summary

ABB is seeking a Mechanical Industrial Engineer to support the Hydro and Ring Motor organization in Spain. You will perform analytical mechanical calculations, develop FEM analyses, and collaborate across Projects, Service, Purchasing, Engineering and Manufacturing to resolve technical queries.

You will review technical docs, update procedures, and participate in coordination meetings while embracing ABB standards and a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Industrial Engineering.
• Experience in mechanical calculation related to electrical rotating machines.
• Experience in FEM analysis (Ansys or similar).
• Experience in 3D design programs (Autodesk Inventor or similar) will be a plus.
• Mindset to innovate, take ownership, drive improvement.

Responsibilities

• Perform analytical mechanical calculations of components and structures under supervision.
• Develop and execute FEM models and interpret results.
• Collaborate to resolve technical queries across Projects, Service, Purchasing, Engineering and Manufacturing.
• Review and update technical documentation, calculations, specifications, and procedures.
• Prepare technical reports and present calculation results; participate in coordination meetings.
