Job summary

Strativ Group is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to own mechanical design for next-generation UAVs and advanced aerospace systems. You will develop complex components and aerostructures from concept through to production, using Siemens NX and applying GD&T.

The role requires aerospace/defence experience, strong NX skills, and collaboration with analysis, manufacturing and suppliers. Hybrid working in Madrid with relocation support is offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical design within aerospace/defence or precision engineering environments.
• Experience designing aerostructures, airframes or related structural assemblies.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong proficiency with Siemens NX is essential.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and aerostructures using Siemens NX.
• Produce detailed 3D models, assemblies and manufacturing drawings with GD&T.
• Apply design for manufacture and assembly to deliver reliable designs.

Looking to take ownership of mechanical design for next-generation UAVs and advanced aerospace systems?

We’re partnering with a growing aerospace and defence business seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to develop complex components, assemblies and structures from concept through to production.

The role

• Design and develop mechanical components and aerostructures using Siemens NX.
• Produce detailed 3D models, assemblies and manufacturing drawings, applying GD&T.
• Apply design for manufacture and assembly principles to deliver practical, reliable designs.
• Work closely with analysis, manufacturing and suppliers to resolve technical challenges.
• Support prototyping, testing and design improvements throughout the product lifecycle.
• Manage technical documentation and design data through PLM systems.

What we’re looking for

• Industry experience in mechanical design within aerospace, defence or a related precision engineering environment.
• Experience designing aerostructures, airframes or comparable structural assemblies.
• Strong proficiency in Siemens NX.
• A solid understanding of engineering fundamentals, GD&T, materials and manufacturing processes.
• Experience taking designs from concept through manufacture.
• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

Experience with Teamcenter and FEA/FEM tools would be advantageous.
