Senior Group Accountant (Barcelona, Hybrid, 3 Days Onsite)

Salary : €60,000 – €90,000, depending on experience
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager – Group Accounting to join our finance team in Barcelona. This is a key position within the Group Finance function, responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of all financial reporting across the Group. You will play a central role in maintaining compliance with IFRS and in driving consistency and excellence in financial governance across all subsidiaries.
Responsibilities
- Group Accounting Leadership: Take ownership of the Group’s accounting and reporting policies, ensuring full compliance with IFRS and relevant internal standards.
- Internal Controls & Compliance: Oversee compliance with internal control frameworks and financial reporting requirements, ensuring a robust and transparent reporting environment across the Group.
- Reporting Efficiency: Design and maintain an effective, efficient, and fast reporting process for all Group entities, supporting timely monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.
- Financial Analysis: Lead the analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements of Group companies, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for management decision-making.
- IFRS Expertise: Act as a “Center of Competence” within the Group, preparing ad-hoc IFRS interpretations for complex business transactions and advising both Group management and subsidiary finance teams.
- Audit Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors during the audit of the consolidated financial statements and individual Group companies.
- Continuous Improvement: Support ongoing optimization of accounting processes, systems, and reporting standards, contributing to a culture of excellence and continuous development within the finance team.
About You
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; a professional qualification (e.g. ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
- Extensive experience in Group accounting and consolidation under IFRS, ideally in an international or multi-entity organization.
- Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and experience providing expert guidance on complex accounting topics.
- Proven track record in managing audits and liaising with external auditors.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Fluent in English; additional European languages are an advantage.
