Job summary

Nordex Group in Madrid is seeking a Senior Load Calculation Engineer to lead aeroelastic load analyses for wind turbine sites and to assess site conditions affecting loads and controller behavior. You will work with multimodal data, including SCADA, to support validation and optimization of control strategies and design updates.

The role requires advanced degree in engineering, 8+ years in loads or related fields, and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a relevant engineering field is required or equivalent.
• Strong background in loads, aeroelasticity, and site suitability analysis.
• Experience with probabilistic methods and uncertainty quantification.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level support analyzing and structuring complex data sets such as load estimation results and SCADA data.
• Perform aeroelastic simulations for site-specific suitability assessment at any lifecycle stage.
• Assess uncertainties and their impact using probabilistic methods.
• Support definition, calibration, and verification of control strategies.

Your Tasks

As part of our growth, we are looking for a Senior Load Calcultation Engineer. Within the Load Calculation Sites team, you will perform the following tasks:

• Provide senior-level support analyzing and structuring complex data sets such as load estimation results and SCADA data
• Perform aeroelastic simulations (load calculations) for site-specific suitability assessment (at any lifecycle stage, incl service). Analyzing site condition impacts on loads, components and controller behavior
• Assess associated uncertainties and their impact using probabilistic methods
• Support definition, calibration, and verification of control strategies
• Contribute to methodology and toolchain improvements
• Generate technical reports and documentation
• Support certification, design updates, and claims investigations

Your Profile

• M. Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or similar *
• Complementary training in Bladed, Alaska, HAWC2, Flex5, Python, MATLAB. Applied AI methodologies (ML, NN...)
• +8 years in loads, control, aeroelastic simulation, site suitability or data analytics
• Professional level of English. Spanish/German are nice to have
• Availability to travel
• For foreign qualifications, recognition as the corresponding Spanish degree equivalency is required when applying.
