Nordex Group in Madrid is seeking a Senior Load Calculation Engineer for Grid Code and VPC methods. The role focuses on advanced load calculations, aeroelastic and multi‑body simulations, and certification activities to support wind turbine projects.

The candidate should hold a M.Sc. in mechanical/aerospace/physics with 8+ years of experience, proficiency in Bladed, Alaska, HAWC2, Flex5, Python, and MATLAB, and an advanced English level (C1-C2).

• M. Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or similar*
• Knowledge of Bladed, Alaska, HAWC2, Flex5, Python, MATLAB
• At least 8 years of experience in a similar role
• Advanced English level (C1-C2). Spanish and/or German are a plus
• Availability to travel

Responsabilidades

• Support development of advanced methods for handling variable power modes and Fault-Right-Through events through load calculations, aeroelastic and multi‑body simulations, and certification activities
• Demonstrate profound knowledge of wind‑turbine theory, grid code requirements, and experience with simulation and drivetrain modelling tools such as Alaska, Bladed, HAWC2, Simpack or FAST
• Apply IEC61400‑1 load standards, contribute to product development, and prepare certification documentation

As part of our growth, we are looking for a Senior Load Calculation Engineer for Grid Code and VPC Methods. In this role within you will perform the following tasks:

YOUR TASKS:

• Support for development of advanced methods for handling variable power modes and Fault-Right-Through events by advanced load calculations, aeroelastic and multi ‑ body simulations, and certification activities


• Demonstrate profound knowledge of wind ‑ turbine theory, global grid ‑ code requirements, and extensive experience with simulation and drivetrain modelling tools such as Alaska, Bladed, HAWC2, Simpack or FAST


• Applying IEC61400 ‑ 1 load standards, contributing to product development, and preparing certification documentation

YOUR PROFILE:

• M. Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or similar*
