UNSW in Sydney, Australia invites applications for a Level B/C academic role focusing on functional genomics and disease modelling.

You will conduct research, develop competitive funding applications, teach at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and supervise HDR students. The 2-year fixed-term appointments are full-time (35 hours) with potential for a tenure-track pathway; apply by 23 September 2026. Collaboration across UNSW and national infrastructure is encouraged.

Formación

• PhD in related discipline (or equivalent) with strong research track record.
• Demonstrated excellence in functional genomics research with high-impact outcomes.
• Experience with genome engineering or perturbation approaches (CRISPR-Cas or equivalent).
• Experience with isogenic iPSC disease models and/or organoid models is advantageous.
• Evidence of teaching and learning design at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct research and design projects focusing on functional genomics and disease modelling.
• Develop and lead applications for competitive funding as co-investigator or principal investigator.
• Deliver a workflow involving Predict-Perturb-Validate-Translate using genomic data.
• Apply CRISPR or perturbation methods and develop quantitative readouts.
• Collaborate across UNSW and affiliated institutes to support platform use and translational opportunities.
• Contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in molecular biology and genomics.
• Mentor HDRs and contribute to a safe, inclusive research culture.
