The Senior Lecturer in the School of Biological, Earth and Environmental Sciences at UNSW leads interdisciplinary, skills-focused teaching and the capstone subjects SCIF1000 Skills in Science and SCIF1001 Advancing Science. This EF role aims to advance educational excellence within teaching and learning communities.

You will deliver high-quality teaching, design learning activities, and support student progression while aligning with UNSW’s values and health and safety policies.

Formación

• PhD in a biological, earth or environmental science discipline, or relevant work experience.
• Demonstrated experience in teaching and learning design for undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels.
• Experience using educational technologies and online delivery methods.
• Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence.
• Ability to advance an inclusive culture of excellence in learning and teaching.
• Demonstrated success in curriculum development and improvement.
• Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
• Commitment to UNSW aims, values and health & safety requirements.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the team delivering SCIF1000 and SCIF1001 and collaborate with academics delivering other Science Faculty courses.
• Apply a well-defined teaching philosophy and reflective practice to inspire student learning.
• Conduct classes, assess student learning and support undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses.
• Design and develop learning activities, resources and assessments at course and program level.
• Support progression with students and implement inclusive teaching aligned with EDI principles.
• Manage course administration as Course Authority and assure academic quality.
• Lead School meetings and seminars and participate in committees as required.
• Collaborate with peers across UNSW and mentor staff in teaching ideas.
