SoftServe is seeking a skilled Backend Engineer to contribute to a simulation and prediction platform for a global fashion retailer. You will design scalable backend components, build microservices, and enable real-time predictions across 200+ online and 90+ offline markets.

You'll work with Java, Spring Boot, and a modern toolchain, collaborating with global teams to deliver data-driven decisions, robust architectures, and reliable cloud-native services.

Formación

• Proficient in Java 11+ with Spring Boot, JPA, Hibernate, and Mongo.
• Experience with Kafka or similar messaging systems, REST APIs, and OpenAPI.
• Strong testing mindset and familiarity with unit/integration testing.

Responsabilidades

• Collaborate with engineers, QA, and stakeholders on requirements and delivery priorities.
• Build and maintain microservices using Java/Spring, ensuring clean architecture and efficient data processing.

• Contribute to technical decisions, documentation, and continuous improvement of system design.

In this role, you will contribute to building a simulation and prediction platform for a global fashion retailer operating across 200+ online and 90+ offline markets. You will help design solutions that enable better decision‑making for distribution center capacity, reducing risks of overstock and inventory gaps through data‑driven insights.

Responsibilities

• Develop backend features for a complex platform, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliable real‑time predictions
• Collaborate closely with engineers, QA specialists, and stakeholders to align on requirements, architecture, and delivery priorities
• Build and maintain microservices using Java and the Spring ecosystem, ensuring clean architecture and efficient data processing
• Implement and maintain integrations with messaging systems, APIs, and data storage solutions
• Ensure code quality through unit, integration, and E2E testing, applying best practices and testing tools
• Contribute to technical decision‑making, documentation, and continuous improvement of system design and development processes

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Java 11+, Spring Boot, JPA, Hibernate, relational databases, and Mongo
• Hands‑on experience with Kafka or similar messaging systems, REST APIs, and OpenAPI standards
• Good knowledge of testing tools and practices
• Familiarity with tools such as Maven, Webpack, Grafana, GrayLog, and SonarQube
• Understanding of design principles, including SOLID, GRASP, and domain‑driven design
• Experience with microservices, real‑time data processing, and scalable application design
• Strong communication skills, ability to estimate work, document decisions, and collaborate in Agile environments
• Upper‑intermediate or higher English level for effective communication with global teams
• Fluent Spanish proficiency for effective communication with Spanish‑speaking clients and stakeholders
