Java Senior Software Engineer – eDO Transport (Hybrid)

We're seeking an experienced Java Senior Software Engineer to join our Transport area in Barcelona or Porto (hybrid) to help customers reach their destination by finding the best travel deals, combining more than 700 airlines and 100,000 flights worldwide every day to offer millions of real‑time combinations of flights, trains and hotels.

What you will do:

You will build and evolve our Flights Search/Booking/PostBooking Domain microservices platform, which powers more than 2.5 billion searches every month, providing the best airline offers to our customers in more than 40 different countries. We offer the chance to learn and work with innovative technologies including Java 17, Kafka, Cassandra, BigTable, Redis, Neo4j, machine learning, Datamesh in a continuous delivery and cloud‑based environment (Docker, Kubernetes, GCP). We look for Engineers who challenge the status quo and influence the way we build our product.

• Have meaningful experience as a senior engineer driving technical work for other engineers.
• Provide technical guidance for complex initiatives and deliver strategic technical improvements.
• Improve code structure and architecture, taking care of testability and maintainability, and identifying opportunities for technical investments.
• Successfully deliver projects with high complexity, involving multiple stakeholders and mitigating timeline risks.
• Effectively give and receive feedback, including code reviews, architecture reviews, and mentoring other team members.
• Communicate complex ideas to technical and business stakeholders and align with the broader organization.
• Constantly look to expand your skills through learning and increasing knowledge.
• Collaborate with the team and share your skills and knowledge.
• Have a fluent English level to work in a multicultural environment.

• Experience with applied AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or other AI‑powered coding assistants.
• Experimentation mindset: curiosity and eagerness to integrate emerging AI solutions into software development workflows.
