TEKsystems is seeking a Senior Integration Engineer to join a Platform Engineering team responsible for building and scaling enterprise integration capabilities. The role focuses on GraphQL, API platforms, and event-driven architectures, with strong emphasis on developer experience and platform adoption across engineering teams.

Responsibilities include designing scalable GraphQL solutions, managing API governance, and driving Azure-based platform reliability and security.

Senior Integration Engineer (Platform Engineering) Location: Netherlands | Hybrid Technology Focus: GraphQL, Kafka, Azure, Event Streaming TEKsystems Global Services is seeking a Senior Integration Engineer to join a Platform Engineering team responsible for building and scaling enterprise integration capabilities. This is an opportunity to play a key role in the development of a strategic GraphQL platform while building reusable integration services that enable engineering teams across the organization. The role combines hands‑on engineering, architecture, and developer enablement, with a strong focus on driving adoption of platform capabilities rather than delivering traditional point-to-point integrations.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and evolve enterprise integration and API platform capabilities.
• Lead the architecture and implementation of GraphQL solutions at scale.
• Develop event‑driven architectures using Kafka and modern streaming technologies.
• Build GraphQL and REST APIs consumed across multiple engineering domains.
• Define integration standards, governance, and best practices.
• Create reusable platform services that improve developer productivity.
• Support and mentor engineering teams adopting integration capabilities.
• Drive platform reliability, scalability, security, and operational excellence within Azure.

Required Skills

• GraphQL (Essential) Strong experience designing and implementing GraphQL solutions in enterprise environments.
• Expertise in schema design, federation, governance, and API architecture.
• Experience driving GraphQL adoption across multiple engineering teams.
• Event Streaming & Integration Apache Kafka KSQLDB Spark Streaming Apache Flink REST APIs Event-Driven Architecture Microservices Distributed Systems Platform Engineering & Cloud Microsoft Azure Azure Integration Services Platform Engineering Cloud‑Native Development CI/CD GitHub Actions Terraform Infrastructure as Code

Ideal Background

• ~5+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, Integration Engineering, or Backend Engineering.
• ~ Experience building enterprise API and integration platforms.
• ~ Deep understanding of Kafka and streaming technologies.
• ~ Strong Azure platform expertise.
• ~ Experience establishing engineering standards and driving technology adoption.
• ~ Proven ability to build developer‑facing platform capabilities at scale.
