The Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute (IJC) in Badalona, part of the Barcelona metropolitan area, invites applications for a Senior HR Officer in the People and Culture Unit. The role covers the employee lifecycle, recruitment, contracting, training, and policy support within a research environment.

Qualifications

• University degree in Labour Relations or similar.
• Postgraduate or Master’s in Human Resources or similar will be a plus.
• At least 5 years of experience in an HR unit with a generalist background.
• Experience working in a scientific environment, including knowledge of scientific grants, projects, and contracts will be a plus.
• Full professional proficiency in Spanish and Catalan.
• Intermediate level of English (written and spoken); advanced level will be considered an asset.
• Experience in SAP, A3 will be a plus.
• Experience with standard computer tools: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsabilités

• Participate in the employee lifecycle: onboarding, contract management, payroll preparation, and offboarding.
• Prepare and process work contracts, renewals and modifications for the assigned staff, in line with regulations and funding requirements.
• Participate in the monthly payroll process, in coordination with colleagues.
• Follow up on HR operational processes, including sickness leaves and parental leave tracking.
• Take part in contract termination processes, including final settlements and documentation.
• Ensure accurate control and monitoring of administrative processes for predoctoral staff.
• Collaborate with Talent Acquisition during recruitment phases, ensuring a smooth handover to the employee lifecycle.
• Contribute to coordination and follow-up of training activities.
• Support Head of Unit in talent management, administrative functions and policy development.
• Contribute to tracking and reporting on key HR metrics and KPIs.
