Job summary

Preply is seeking a Senior ML Platform Engineer to design and scale GenAI infrastructure. You will shape platform evolution, implement automated routing, guardrails, and cost controls across model vendors. This is a hands-on, senior role with broad technical influence across ML, data, security, and product teams.

You will collaborate with ML Platform, Data, and Engineering teams to deliver reliable, scalable GenAI capabilities, supporting global learning experiences for tutors and learners alike.

Qualifications

• 5+ years designing, building, and operating backend services or ML infra.
• Strong Python skills and API/SDK development experience.
• Hands-on with GenAI systems, vector retrieval, and external APIs.
• Knowledge of distributed systems, caching, and high availability.
• Experience with at least one major public cloud (preferably AWS).
• English at C1 level and willingness to join paid on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the systems behind production GenAI workloads.
• Drive the expansion of GenAI Platform with self-service capabilities.
• Write production code and shape platform abstractions and standards.
• Establish observability, tracing, cost analytics and alerting across lifecycles.
• Standardize prompt engineering, testing, governance, and CI/CD for delivery.
