Job summary

Perle is seeking expert Galician transcribers to convert audio from native speakers into precise, time-aligned transcripts following our style guide. You will make principled orthographic decisions for dialectal and code-switched speech, identify speakers, overlaps, and non-speech events, and self-review before submission.

Applicants must be native Galician speakers, fluent in orthography per Galician guidelines, and have at least two years of professional transcription or related experience.

Qualifications

• Native fluency in Galician with deep immersion in Galicia.
• Mastery of Galician orthography per Real Academia Galega.
• Ability to distinguish Galician from Portuguese and Spanish in mixed audio.
• Comfort with Galician-Spanish code-switching as it occurs naturally.
• At least two years of professional transcription or related experience.

Responsibilities

• Transcribe audio recordings into accurate, time-aligned written text following Perle’s style guide.
• Apply speaker identification, overlapping speech, disfluencies and non-speech events conventions.
• Make principled orthographic decisions for dialectal and code-switched speech.
• Flag ambiguous segments and audio quality issues per project conventions.
• Self-review submissions against Perle’s quality bar and engage QA on edge cases.
