La Royale Group is seeking a senior client engineer to drive frontend and mobile delivery across web and apps, shaping architecture and mentoring teammates in a fast-growing, international startup. You will ship polished experiences using React, Next.js, and React Native, while ensuring performance, accessibility and robust testing.

You will collaborate with product, design, backend and operations to deliver scalable features, improve data flows, and own CI/CD and production debugging.

About the Role

This is a 3-month fixed-term contract, with the possibility of extension. The role requires you to build fast, intuitive and resilient experiences across responsive web and mobile devices, making complex live, social and gamified interactions feel simple and engaging. You will be a senior hands-on contributor across client architecture and product delivery. You will influence technical standards, review important work and mentor colleagues, while remaining directly involved in implementation.

What You Will Do

• Product Delivery: Design and implement polished experiences across social interaction, live media, maps, messaging, communities and gamification.
• Client Architecture: Improve frontend and mobile architecture, shared components, state management, navigation and data flows across web, iOS and Android.
• Technical Discovery: Analyse requirements, assess feasibility and contribute to estimates, dependencies and implementation plans.
• Quality: Build automated tests and improve accessibility, performance, observability, maintainability and release confidence.
• Realtime Experience: Implement resilient behaviour for WebSockets, notifications, media playback and rapidly changing application state.
• Release Ownership: Support CI/CD, app distribution, analytics, crash reporting, feature flags and production debugging.
• Technical Collaboration: Review code, document decisions, share reusable patterns and mentor other engineers through day-to-day delivery.
• AI-Assisted Development: Use coding agents and LLM-assisted workflows responsibly across implementation, testing, debugging and documentation.

Who We’re Looking For

• Senior Client Engineering: Strong experience shipping and maintaining production frontend or mobile applications.
• Modern Web: Deep practical knowledge of React, Next.js or an equivalent modern client stack.
• Mobile Delivery: Production experience with React Native, Capacitor, native iOS/Android or an equivalent cross-platform approach.
• Performance: Strong understanding of rendering, caching, bundle size, device constraints, accessibility and cross-browser compatibility.
• Product Craft: Good interaction judgment and attention to detail, ideally in consumer social, gaming, media or event products.
• Engineering Quality: Comfortable with automated testing, code review, production debugging and incremental improvement of technical debt.
• Collaboration: Communicates trade-offs clearly and works effectively with design, product, backend and operations.

Nice to Have

• Capacitor, iOS/Android WebView lifecycles, Swift bridges, Xcode/TestFlight, CocoaPods or Gradle.
• Firebase Analytics or Crashlytics, push notifications, deep links, device permissions and secure local storage.
• Maps, HLS playback, realtime streaming, graphics, media processing or performance tuning.
• Playwright, Appium, XCTest, Vitest, accessibility testing, AWS or Cloudflare.
• Working knowledge of TypeScript/Node.js, Python, APIs, authentication and data contracts.
• Exposure to on-device AI, browser ML, voice or audio interfaces.
