ahead is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to help us evolve our AI-first SaaS platform in Barcelona. You will take ideas from concept to production, building with React, TypeScript and Next.js while exploring new AI tools and approaches.

We value ownership, curiosity and collaboration in a hybrid Barcelona setup. You will work with modern technologies and contribute to shaping product direction while delivering high-quality software.

Are you a builder at heart? Someone who enjoys turning ideas into working products, trying out new technologies and taking ownership from idea to implementation?

At ahead, we're looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer who wants to help us further develop our SaaS platform and explore how an AI-first approach can change the way we build software. We're actively experimenting with new tools and ways of working. Some are already part of our daily development, others we're still figuring out. What matters to us is being open to trying new things, keeping what works and challenging what does not.

What you'll do

• Build and ship. Develop and continuously improve our intranet SaaS platform, used by organizations to connect, engage and inspire their employees.
• Take ideas to production. Turn concepts into working solutions -- from early exploration and prototyping through implementation, testing and release.
• Build AI-first. Use AI throughout your development workflow to explore ideas, write and review code, test, debug and document.
• Work with leading AI development tools such as Claude and Codex and evaluate new technologies and approaches as they emerge.
• Help shape the product. Work closely with product management and the wider team to understand problems, challenge assumptions and define solutions -- not just implement predefined tickets.
• Improve how we build. Experiment with new technologies, tools and workflows that can help us move faster, improve quality or build a better product.

Our current technology stack includes React, TypeScript, Jest, Next.js and Microsoft Azure -- but our stack is not set in stone. We continuously evaluate the best technologies and tools available.

What we're looking for

We're looking for a builder, not just a developer. You have several years of experience building modern web applications and strong JavaScript / TypeScript and React skills. More importantly, you're curious about where software development is heading and want to be part of that change.

You:

• Have strong experience (3+ years) building and shipping modern web applications with React and TypeScript.
• Think in products and user outcomes, not just technical requirements.
• Have an AI-first mindset and actively explore how AI and new tools can improve the way you build software.
• Are curious and open to experimenting with new technologies, tools and approaches -- and pragmatic about what adKworks.
• Take ownership of your work and are comfortable making decisions independently.
• Enjoy working independently as well as collaborating with a team, exchanging feedback and challenging assumptions constructively.
• Speak good English. German is a plus, but not a requirement.

A degree in computer science or a related field is welcome, but what you've built and how you think matters more to us than your formal education.

You'll join our team in Barcelona in a hybrid setup, combining time together in our central office with the flexibility to work from home. We're a team that values ownership, curiosity and execution. We exchange ideas openly, challenge each other constructively and give people the freedom to make things happen.

We want to work with the best tools available today -- not the tools that happened to be standard five years ago. That means continuously experimenting with new AI models, coding agents, development environments and workflows.
