A European Air Traffic Management organization is seeking a Senior Front-end Developer and E-learning Designer to lead the design of front-end applications and e-learning content. The role requires strong expertise in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and ASP.NET, with a focus on collaboration and problem-solving. Candidates must be fluent in English and available to work remotely, aligning with core hours. The position offers a contract for three years with possible extensions. Occasional travel to Luxembourg may be required.

Formación

Senior Front-end Developer and E-learning Designer (Remote) – EUROCONTROL

Location: Remote. The consultant must align working hours with EUROCONTROL core time (10:00–16:00 CET/CEST). Occasional on-site missions to ALC, Luxembourg (2 days/year) may be required.

Contract Duration: Three (3) Firm Years, with two (2) Optional Additional Years.

Role Overview

EUROCONTROL’s Learning Zone (LZ) team is seeking an experienced and multi-skilled professional to lead the design and development of a front‑end application within the Administer Courses and Events (ACE) system. This application is central to the creation and management of new course instances.

The successful candidate will collaborate directly with EUROCONTROL teams in a dynamic design and development process. In addition to the primary task, the role includes ad‑hoc front‑end and e‑learning design and development assignments.

Required Technical Skills and Experience

The candidate shall possess the following minimum professional experience:

  • 5+ years analysing functional requirements and designing interface prototypes.
  • 5+ years designing e‑learning storyboards through collaboration with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
  • 5+ years professional experience in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and ASP.NET MVC using Visual Studio.
  • 5+ years professional experience in e‑learning development, with a record of the rapid and authoring tools used.
  • 1+ year experience creating content and courses in a Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Proven ability to develop for browser and mobile compatibility, ensure maintainability, and apply structured debugging and problem‑solving approaches.
  • 3+ years programming experience in ASP.NET Webpages, npm, SQL queries, and DevOps or GitHub code management.
  • Experience integrating software into COTS systems (e.g., via menus or embedded pages).
Desirable Skills
  • Experience in an Air Traffic Management (ATM) context.
  • Experience with Articulate Rise and Adobe Suite for e‑learning development.
  • Experience with IMC Learning Suite LMS.
Working Environment and Collaboration
Team
  • Direct collaboration with the EUROCONTROL Learning Zone team (Team Leader, Senior Developer, Junior Developer).
Liaison
  • Interaction with training experts (instructors) and the Head of Training Delivery for user interviews.
Tooling
  • EUROCONTROL workstation.
  • Tools: Visual Studio, Azure, and DevOps.
  • Existing code base: ASP.NET Framework 8.
  • E-learning source files stored in Dropbox.
  • Repositories for ad‑hoc tasks managed in GitHub.
Style

Must adhere to EUROCONTROL corporate brand guidelines and existing code style.

Communication
  • Fluent written and spoken English is required.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with native and non‑native, technical and non‑technical colleagues.
Working Hours

Communication must occur during EUROCONTROL core time (10:00–16:00 CET/CEST).
