Safilo in Madrid is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to manage general ledger, month-end closings and local statutory reporting under IFRS and Spanish GAAP. You will coordinate audits, ensure VAT/CIT compliance and drive process improvements across AP, bank reconciliations, and cash forecasting.

The role requires 7+ years in multinational accounting, English fluency, and strong Excel skills. SAP ERP, BW and HFM experience preferred.

Qualifikationen

• BS/MA degree in Finance, Business Administration or similar fields.
• 7+ years of experience in Accounting and tax in IFRS and Spanish GAAP of multinational companies.
• Fluency in English.
• Advanced MS Excel skills.
• Preferred experience in SAP ERP, SAP BW and HFM.
• Work ethics.
• Team player, positive and problem-solving attitude as well as willingness to learn and share competencies.
• Ability to develop strong working relationships.
• A keen eye for detail and analytical skills.

Aufgaben

• General Ledger & Month-End Closing: prepare monthly accounts under IFRS up to trial balance, reconcile balance sheets, prepare month-end journals and accruals.
• Ensure accurate balance sheet and P&L reporting.
• Perform monthly reconciliations including intercompany reconciliations.
• Coordinate quarter/year end closure and prepare Annual Financial Statements per Spanish GAAP.
• Coordinate external audits with Finance Manager and Group.
• Tax/Compliance: VAT, CIT, SII reporting; ensure statutory filings and payments.
• Oversee Accounts Payable: support AP SSC, process supplier invoices and reconcile balances.
• Bank: daily bank review and ensure correct bookings; prepare bank payments.
• Cash Flow: prepare Daily Treasury Report and forecast cash in/out for 3 months.
• Systems/Process Improvements: identify opportunities to automate and optimize financial processes.
