Job summary

Skydance Animation in Madrid seeks a seasoned VFX/Animation professional to lead high-end modeling and look development for our projects. You will create and adapt 3D characters and environments, collaborating with the team to push the boundaries of style and technique.

The role requires deep knowledge of Maya, ZBrush, Arnold, and related tools, with strong English skills and a passion for innovative storytelling. Commitment to quality and creative growth is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in VFX or animation industries.
• 3+ years in the animation industry.
• Strong artistic or / and technical aptitude related to 3D animation is a must.
• Extensive experience with Maya.
• Experience with Zbrush, Arnold Render.
• Knowledge of SpeedTree, Houdini and Marvelous Designer are pluses.
• Knowledge of skinning, rigging, technical constraints and optimization.
• High English level desirable.
• Spanish desirable.

Responsibilities

• Models utilizing photography and pre-existing models.
• Models from concepts following the look of the show.
• Has the ability to create, adapt, and iterate, within a variety of artistic styles.
• Models trees, bushes and other vegetation with the look of the movie.
• Has the ability to properly research and work independently in absence of concept art.
• Keeps up on current artistic methodologies and on technology trends and tools that best suit the production and the company in the development of a stronger creative and technical environment.
• Works together with the team providing support, guidance and instruction in areas that contribute towards their artistic and professional growth.
• Follows the Supervisor’s and Lead's guidance.
