Descripción del empleo
About the Company

At INDRA DEIMOS, we design and deliver complete space systems for Earth observation, communications, and scientific missions. Our Systems Engineering Competence Centre leads the technical architecture of satellite platforms, from early concept to on-orbit operations. We are currently working on multiple ESA and commercial projects, applying cutting‑edge technologies to shape the future of space.

What’s the Challenge?

As a Senior Space Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, development, and verification of complex spacecraft systems. You will coordinate technical activities across subsystems, define system‑level requirements, and ensure architectural consistency throughout the mission lifecycle. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will drive performance, reliability, and innovation across all mission phases.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, development, and verification of critical subsystems (OBDH, AOCS, Propulsion, Communications, EPS).
  • Define and manage system‑level requirements and ensure interface compatibility.
  • Develop and maintain the spacecraft system architecture across all subsystems.
  • Perform trade‑off analyses, simulations, and optimisations for mass, power, cost, and performance.
  • Coordinate hardware and software integration across subsystems.
  • Support cross‑functional activities with Ground Segment and Flight Operations teams.
  • Lead anomaly resolution and troubleshooting throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation: requirements, ICDs, verification plans, and design reviews.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure mission and operational success.
What We’re Looking For – Technical Skills
  • Proven experience in spacecraft systems engineering and subsystem coordination.
  • Strong understanding of MBSE methodologies and system‑level design.
  • Familiarity with mechanical, thermal, radiation, and propulsion systems.
  • Proficiency in space design and analysis tools (CATIA, NASTRAN/PATRAN, ESATAN, FASTRAD).
  • Hands‑on approach to solving cross‑functional technical challenges.
  • Knowledge of New Space practices and low‑level integration techniques.
  • Experience with ECSS standards and technical documentation.
  • Ability to analyse and verify system configurations under operational constraints.
Additional Valued Skills
  • Experience with Capella or Valispace MBSE tools.
  • Knowledge of Python or other scripting languages.
  • Technical writing and familiarity with space‑related standards.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Master’s or PhD is a plus.
  • 10+ years of experience in relevant roles within the space industry.
Language Skills
  • Fluent English (minimum B2 level); Spanish is a plus.
Personal Attributes
  • Collaborative, proactive, and reliable.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities and work in dynamic environments.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally and work across DEIMOS locations or customer sites.
