Job summary

NXP Semiconductors Austria is seeking a security engineer to design and implement state-of-the-art cryptographic software on ARM Cortex-M and RISC-V platforms. You will build countermeasures against side-channel and fault injection attacks and collaborate with cross-functional teams across architecture, firmware, and certification domains.

The role requires 5+ years in cryptography and embedded security, with strong C/Assembly skills and knowledge of cryptographic primitives.

Qualifications

• Degree in mathematics, cryptography, CS, electrical engineering, IT or related discipline.
• 5+ years in cryptography and embedded security with strong primitives.
• Solid embedded software development experience in C and Assembly.
• Knowledge of hardware and software countermeasures against side-channel/fault attacks.
• Post-Quantum Cryptography knowledge is a plus.
• Rust experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Specification and cross-platform implementation of cryptographic algorithms (incl. Post-Quantum) and secure software.
• Design and specification of countermeasures against SCA and FI; implement them.
• Collaborate with security architects and evaluation teams to enhance software security.
• Take ownership of topics within cryptographic domains through design, reviews, and planning.
• Collaborate with OS and firmware teams for secure integration of cryptographic software.
• Work with test and platform support engineers to ensure high product quality.
• Support product certification activities and security evaluations.
