Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Director, PX Business Partner based in Spain.

The Senior Director, PX Business Partner will lead the People Experience strategy for the Iberia region, covering Spain and Portugal, aligning people initiatives with business priorities and long-term growth. This senior leadership role combines strategic workforce planning, organizational development, employee engagement, and talent management with hands-on execution. Working closely with executive leaders and global People Experience specialists, you will shape an inclusive, high-performance culture across the employee lifecycle. You will lead and develop a small team while influencing key decisions around organizational effectiveness, leadership development, compensation, and employee wellbeing. The role also involves navigating complex employment relations, labor regulations, and organizational change across an international, matrixed environment. It is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on employee experience and business performance within a dynamic, creative industry.

Accountabilities

  • Lead the regional People Experience strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive people agenda for Spain and Portugal that supports business objectives, long-term growth, and a people-first culture.

  • Partner with senior leadership: Act as a trusted advisor to executive teams, providing strategic guidance on organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, talent, culture, employee engagement, and retention.

  • Oversee talent and organizational development: Drive talent acquisition, onboarding, succession planning, career mobility, leadership development, and organizational design in partnership with relevant specialist teams.

  • Build an inclusive and engaging workplace: Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, strengthen the employee value proposition, and promote wellbeing, work-life harmony, and positive employee experiences.

  • Lead compensation and rewards initiatives: Manage regional compensation processes, including salary reviews, benchmarking, internal equity, and payroll coordination, ensuring alignment with the broader total rewards strategy.

  • Manage employee relations and labor matters: Provide guidance on Spanish employment law, collective bargaining, labor agreements, works councils, trade unions, employee representatives, and complex workplace issues in collaboration with legal and labor relations specialists.

  • Drive organizational change: Lead reorganizations, integrations, individual and collective termination processes, and broader transformation initiatives while maintaining clear communication, empathy, and operational continuity.

  • Use data to inform decisions: Analyze workforce metrics, identify emerging trends, build business cases, and translate insights into practical strategies that improve employee experience and business outcomes.

  • Coordinate cross-functional initiatives: Collaborate with specialist teams across talent acquisition, people operations, compensation and benefits, learning, organizational effectiveness, HR systems, and inclusion.

  • Support compliance and employee wellbeing: Oversee occupational health and safety coordination, internal investigations, confidential employee matters, data protection, and other sensitive issues.

  • Lead and develop the team: Manage two direct reports, foster collaboration, and contribute to regional and global People Experience initiatives that strengthen organizational capabilities.

Requirements
  • More than 12 years of relevant professional experience, ideally including senior-level People Experience, HR leadership, or business partnering roles.

  • Demonstrated success advising executive leadership teams and translating business priorities into effective people strategies and organizational development initiatives.

  • Strong business acumen and HR expertise, with an interest in or experience within the music, entertainment, or another creative industry.

  • Proven experience leading teams, developing talent, and delivering high-quality employee experiences, operational improvements, and measurable organizational impact.

  • Deep knowledge of Spanish labor law and substantial experience managing complex employee relations matters, collective bargaining, labor agreements, consultation processes, and conflict resolution.

  • Experience working in international, matrixed organizations and navigating cultural, regulatory, and operational differences across countries.

  • Expertise in organizational design, workforce planning, talent management, compensation, employee engagement, leadership development, and change management.

  • A strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with the ability to embed inclusive practices throughout the employee lifecycle.

  • Excellent coaching, consulting, influencing, and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to challenge established approaches and advise senior stakeholders.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to deliver complex decisions or difficult messages with clarity, discretion, care, and empathy.

  • A pragmatic, solutions-oriented mindset, combining strategic thinking with the flexibility to manage day-to-day execution in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret people data, identify trends, and develop evidence-based recommendations.

  • Exceptional organizational skills and sound judgment when handling confidential information, sensitive investigations, and stressful situations.

  • A collaborative and adaptable leadership style, high emotional intelligence, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to lead change while maintaining trust and alignment.

Benefits
  • An inclusive, collaborative, and global working environment connected to the creative industries.

  • A modern office environment designed to support productivity, creativity, and teamwork.

  • A flexible hybrid working approach that combines remote work with in-person collaboration, tailored to business, team, and individual needs.

  • A comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life, and disability coverage, as well as a 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching, subject to local eligibility and plan terms.

  • Additional voluntary benefits and support programs, including identity theft protection, pet-related resources, mental health and meditation support, fertility coverage, and assistance for caregivers.

  • Family-focused benefits, including paid leave for childbirth or bonding, paid caregiver leave, subsidized backup childcare and eldercare, and support for loved ones with developmental disabilities and neurodiversity.

  • Financial assistance or reimbursement programs for adoption, surrogacy, tuition, and student loans, subject to applicable program terms.
