Descripción del empleo

Last Mile Engineering is searching for an innovative and solutions-oriented engineering project leader to lead the initiative of developing and delivering next-generation, world-class Last‑Mile transportation systems. Are you an innovative leader that wants to design the next generation of world‑class delivery station and logistics systems across the globe? Do you want a high level of ownership in solving complex problems? Does the challenge of designing systems that leverage groundbreaking automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies and robotics appeal to you? If so, we have the job for you!

This highly visible, cross‑functional role will require effective collaboration and efficient communication with multiple teams (Product, Tech, Program, Finance, Legal, SMEs, Local Ops, GP, etc.) and global stakeholders. The right candidate is proactive in understanding and communicating critical business needs, and knows how those translate into solutions. This person must have experience building long‑term, strategic relationships, and becoming influential partners. The position requires heavy verbal and written communication on status, risks and our sourcing pipeline.

This role is a great fit for a professional team‑player who is flexible, comfortable with ambiguity, and merges strong technical depth with bar‑raising communication skills. The engineer will possess a strong business and project management background, thrive in an entrepreneurial environment, and be willing to roll up sleeves, dive into the weeds, and focus on data and details to ensure the right inputs are top of mind for customers and stakeholders.

To be successful in this role you will need to influence and work with senior leaders across multiple organizations and geographies. You will work with organizations such as Worldwide Engineering and Design, WW Tech SME, Last Mile Delivery and Tech, and Operations to innovate at scale and drive the development roadmap.

Key job responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate design and innovation efforts to develop optimal solutions for the delivery station network through equipment specification, material flow, process design, site layout, and intellectual property considerations.
  • Track existing and set up new metrics as required to validate vendor and team performance.
  • Report on performance in weekly and monthly forums with partner teams and senior leadership.
  • Set measurable targets that align with the overall goals of the organization.
  • Comprehend the technical requirements of our internal customers and become an expert in the field.
  • Influence organizations to gain support and overcome resistance with data and persuasion.
  • Oversee partner teams through good judgment, using data‑driven decisions.
  • Deliver end‑to‑end technology and vendor operations projects, working through obstacles.
  • Present to senior leadership, communicate expectations and requirements clearly with business and technology teams, and write well‑reasoned, data‑oriented proposals.
  • Utilize exceptional problem‑solving skills to work through difficult tasks.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience and strong technical background in relevant fields of automated or non‑automated material handling equipment.
  • Master’s degree in engineering, mechanical, operations, supply chain, business administration, or equivalent STEM field.
  • Experience in Lean Management, Six Sigma, and other operations engineering tools.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence senior leaders across multiple organizations.
  • Data‑driven mindset with ability to present data and proposals to senior leadership.
