What are we looking for?

We are looking for a Senior Database Administrator with deep expertise in Microsoft SQL Server. This is an exciting opportunity to work on enterprise-level database solutions across both on‑premises and cloud environments, with a strong focus on performance tuning and high availability.

100% Remote (Spain‑based candidates only)

High level of English required

Qualifications & Experience

• 7+ years in database engineering, administration, and performance tuning
• Strong expertise in SQL Server (T‑SQL, stored procedures)
• Proficiency in SSRS and SSIS
• Advanced skills in query optimization and execution plan analysis
• Experience with high‑availability setups: Always On, clustering, replication, log shipping
• Solid understanding of database security, auditing, and compliance

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage high‑performance Oracle and SQL Server databases
• Optimize queries, indexes, and stored procedures for performance and scalability
• Administer Azure SQL Server and Azure Managed Instance, ensuring security and availability
• Develop and maintain SSRS reports and SSIS ETL packages
• Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues, replication failures, and security vulnerabilities
• Collaborate with development and operations teams on database optimization and structure
• Manage backup, disaster recovery, and high‑availability strategies (Always On, clustering, etc.)
• Ensure compliance with database security best practices and industry standards
• Lead database migrations, upgrades, and cloud adoption initiatives

Preferred Skills

• Experience with cloud‑native database solutions and automation
• Familiarity with DevOps, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and CI/CD for database deployments
• Understanding of NoSQL databases and hybrid cloud environments
• Hands‑on experience with Azure SQL Server and Azure Managed Instance

Preferred certifications

• Oracle Database Administrator Certified Professional
