Job summary

Netguru is seeking a Senior Data Engineer for a fully remote, freelance B2B engagement in the European Union. The rolerequires strong Python for data pipelines, Databricks, dbt, SQL, JSON handling and REST API integration.

You will work within a development team on data-driven projects, leveraging Kafka/Debezium for streaming and Azure cloud services. The position offers 100% remote work, long-term collaboration, and exposure to challenging products while collaborating with experienced

Qualifications

• At least 4 years of experience in software or data engineering.
• Experience in a development team.
• Strong Python skills for building data pipelines with Databricks and dbt.
• Proficiency in SQL.
• Experience with data mapping.
• Good understanding of JSON.
• Experience integrating with REST APIs.
• Hands-on experience with event streaming (Kafka/Debezium).
• Experience in data validation and writing data tests.
• Knowledge of Data Vault modeling.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services.
• English proficiency to read technical docs and communicate with vendors.

We are looking for Senior Data Engineer

Project Details:

• Location:European Union
• Contract type:Full-time, freelance B2B
• Rate:150-175 PLN/h
• Start:asap
• Duration: 3-6 months (with possibilty of extension)

Must-have:

• At least 4 years of experience in software or data engineering
• Experience working on projects within a development team
• Strong Python skills for building data pipelines, with hands-on experience in Databricks and dbt
• Proficiency in SQL
• Experience with data mapping
• Good understanding of the JSON data format
• Experience integrating with REST APIs
• Hands-on experience with event streaming and topics (Kafka / Debezium)
• Experience in data validation
• Experience writing data unit tests and integration tests
• Knowledge of Data Vault modeling
• Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services
• English proficiency sufficient to read technical documentation fluently, handle business correspondence, and communicate verbally with international external vendors

Nice to have:

• University degree, preferably in Computer Science or a related field
• Experience working with applications in distributed environments
• Experience using AI tools in automated workflows
