TechShack is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join a long-term data engineering programme supporting a leading organisation within the insurance sector. The role sits in a modern AWS-based data environment and requires a genuinely strong data engineering background able to work across large-scale, production data solutions.

The project emphasises Python, Snowflake or Databricks, ETL/ELT, and modern cloud data architectures, with a consulting/professional services background as a big advantage.

I'm currently looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join a long-term data engineering programme supporting a leading organisation within the insurance sector.

Start: Early September 2026

The project sits within a modern AWS-based data environment, and we're looking for someone with a genuinely strong Data Engineering background who can work across large-scale, production data solutions.

KEY STACK

• Python - MUST be very strong
• Snowflake OR Databricks - MUST (Snowflake is preferred, but strong Databricks engineers will absolutely be considered especially with certifications in either/both)
• ETL / ELT and modern cloud data architectures

A consulting or professional services background would be a big advantage. You'll be working in a customer-facing environment, so the ability to communicate with stakeholders, understand requirements and take ownership of technical delivery is important.

Experience within insurance, financial services or another regulated enterprise environment would also be beneficial, but isn't essential.

The contract is indefinite, so this is a great opportunity for someone looking for a genuinely long-term B2B engagement rather than another 3-6 month project.
