Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to join the Madrid design team and lead structural designs for AWS data centres in the EMEA region. You will guide prototypical DC facilities, provide technical direction, and collaborate with Architects, Engineers, and Designers to solve complex challenges.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities.
• Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods for data center equipment.

Responsabilidades

• Develop & maintain structural Basis of Design and template specifications.
• Lead structural design on Data Centre projects with defined duties.
• Prepare conceptual data centre scheme designs from due diligence site assessments and local regulations and permitting requirements.
• Partner with internal customers to establish project scope, schedule and deliverables.
• Create, review and release RFPs for engagement of external design vendor and review bids.
• Manage external design consultants through design and construction to ensure high-quality deliverables on schedule.
• Coordinate with internal and external Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, Fire and Cabling design engineers.
• Influence and manage deviations to the AWS reference design based on localisation and site needs.
• Create and track metrics related to cost, quality and duration of design.
• Collect data from operations, construction and commissioning teams as designs are implemented.
• Create/maintain project documentation before, during, and after construction.
• Think outside of the box to find innovative solutions during design and construction to meet regulations and reduce costs.
