Job summary

Thomson Reuters in Madrid seeks a Senior Counsel to draft and negotiate complex software, data and technology agreements for global sales. You will address privacy and IP issues while guiding internal teams in a fast-paced, data-driven legal environment.

The role emphasizes practical, commercially sound advice and collaboration with Sales, Product Management and others within the General Counsel Office.

Qualifications

• 7 years post-qualification experience in private practice or in-house advising on sell-side deals.
• Excellent written and verbal English language communication.
• Experience with SaaS products, data licensing and information governance.
• Authorisation to practise law.

Responsibilities

• Review, draft, and negotiate customer-facing and partner agreements including SaaS and licensing.
• Identify legal risks across commercial initiatives and implement mitigation strategies.
• Advise on enterprise-wide legal issues and respond to internal inquiries.
