We are seeking a (Senior) Construction Manager to lead our data centre construction projects in Barcelona, Spain. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee the development of cutting‑edge data centre facilities, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and reliability. As part of the strategic partnership between CBRE and Turner & Townsend, this role will be based within CBRE Project Management S.A.

  • Lead and coordinate all aspects of data centre construction projects, spending significant time on‑site supervising contractors and ensuring high production volume.
  • Verify project development according to plans and specifications, supporting the MEP team and acting as a construction liaison for designers and planners.
  • Manage project logistics, security, and fire safety, coordinating with the Operator and maintaining direct contact with the Project Management team.
  • Conduct regular construction coordination meetings, issuing minutes and approving construction sequences and methods with the planner.
  • Oversee contractor performance, including progress monitoring, quality plan verification, and package requirement enforcement.
  • Review and process construction Change Orders and operation and maintenance manuals.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Civil Engineering or related field, with minimum 10 years' experience in construction management, focusing on data centre projects
  • Proven track record of delivering large‑scale construction projects on time and within budget
  • In‑depth knowledge of data centre design, mechanical and electrical systems, and high‑voltage electrical substations
  • Strong project management skills, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation
  • Excellent leadership and communication abilities to manage diverse teams effectively
  • Proficiency in project management software and ability to interpret technical drawings
  • Knowledge of construction industry health and safety regulations and sustainable practices
  • Fluency in English and Spanish is essential
