Biopharma Careers is seeking a Senior Cloud Solutions Architect to design, implement, and operate cloud-native backend systems on AWS, contributing to our Data & AI platform and R&D roadmap. You will own deployments, write production Python code, and build end-to-end pipelines in a high-autonomy, quality-driven environment.

We expect 8+ years of enterprise experience, deep AWS expertise, and strong SQL/Boto3 skills.

Formación

• University degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
• 8+ years of relevant experience building secure, scalable, cloud-native backends at enterprise scale.
• Strong Python (incl. boto3) and SQL skills; knowledge of additional OOP languages is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Implement new features and maintain platform functionalities using AWS services; own deployments end to end.
• Design and implement data processing pipelines and RESTful/microservice integrations; apply serverless and event-driven patterns.
• Write clean, well-tested Python code and participate in code reviews.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps; apply IaC principles using Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK.
• Embed AWS security best practices and ensure observability through monitoring and health checks.

Your Role:

Ready to shape the future? As Senior Cloud Solutions Architect, you will be actively designing, implementing, and operating cloud-native backend systems and data services on AWS, contributing directly to our Data & AI platform and R&D product roadmap. You write production code, build pipelines, own deployments, and take end-to-end accountability for the solutions you deliver. Your key responsibilities:

• Implement new features and maintain platform functionalities using AWS services (Lambda, Step Functions, Glue, Athena, API Gateway, and more); own deployments end to end.
• Design and implement data processing pipelines, data archive processes, and RESTful/microservice integrations; apply serverless and event-driven patterns.
• Write clean, well-tested, documented Python code; apply OOP and design patterns; participate actively in code reviews.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps; apply IaC principles using Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK.
• Embed AWS security best practices and Merck security standards into every solution; ensure observability through monitoring and health checks.

Experience & Qualifiscations

• University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
• 8+ years of relevant experience building secure, scalable, resilient cloud-native backend systems at enterprise scale.
• Deep proficiency in Python (incl. boto3) and SQL; background in an additional OOP language (Scala, Java, or C#) is a plus.
• Solid AWS expertise: Lambda, Step Functions, Glue, Athena, API Gateway, IAM, S3; serverless and event-driven design patterns.
• CI/CD experience with Azure DevOps and Git; IaC with Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK.
• Security awareness: AWS security best practices including IAM policies, encryption, and MFA.
• Nice to have: containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, Fargate), Snowflake, Apache Iceberg, NoSQL DBs.
• Business-fluent English (written and spoken)
