Arup is seeking a Senior CFD Modeller in Spain to lead complex CFD studies for fire engineering, focusing on tunnel ventilation and smoke dispersion. You will deliver projects from proposal through final reporting and mentor junior engineers, coordinating with Arup offices worldwide.

The role requires expertise in FDS/PyroSim, Python automation, and experience with CAD tools. English and Spanish fluency is essential for collaboration across teams.

Formación

• Minimum 5 years of CFD experience in fire engineering, smoke movement, tunnel ventilation or smoke control systems.
• Strong experience with FDS and PyroSim.
• Experience in tunnel and station ventilation modelling using IDA Tunnel and/or SES.
• Ventilation design for transit, rail, metro, and road tunnel infrastructure per NFPA 130 and NFPA 502.
• Proven experience leading complex CFD projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
• Python programming for automation of CFD pre-processing and post-processing tasks.
• Experience with 3D modelling and CAD tools like AutoCAD, Rhino or similar.
• High level of spoken and written English and Spanish.

Responsabilidades

• Lead CFD studies for smoke movement and smoke control system design using FDS.
• Support performance-based fire engineering designs through advanced numerical simulations.
• Carry out tunnel ventilation and smoke dispersion analyses for road, rail, and metro infrastructure projects using 3D CFD modelling and 1D tools.
• Conduct smoke management and evacuation-related assessments for stations and transport hubs.
• Coordinate technical delivery with multidisciplinary teams and CFD specialists across Arup offices worldwide.
• Mentor and support junior engineers in project execution and technical development.
• Contribute to development of new CFD methodologies and automated workflows.
