RED, an international M&E consultancy, seeks a Senior BMS Engineer to be based in Madrid. You will work on cutting-edge hyperscale data centres across Europe, implementing client BMS philosophies, and growing your expertise under mentoring.

From day one you’ll contribute to designs, sequences, and operation documents, coordinating with clients and contractors, and advancing to lead roles on large projects while travelling internationally.

Responsabilidades

• Support production of designs and specs for new build mechanical/electrical installations.

• Produce specifications from templates and new sources.
• Create plan drawings, schematics, network topology drawings, and control diagrams.
• Prepare early-stage reports for client sign-off.
• Review Contractor proposals for compliance.
• Carry out condition surveys and produce improvement reports.
• Represent the company at technical meetings with customers and contractors.
• Attend factory/site acceptance tests and integrated systems tests.
• Attend commissioning activities during construction and completion.

We now seek a Senior BMS Engineer to be based out of our Madrid office.

We are currently designing cutting - edge 170MW hyperscale data centres, balancing the creation of agnostic global templates with highly refined , locali s ed designs across Europe and the Nordics.

From day one, you will be exposed to the latest and greatest hyperscale designs currently being locali s ed for the European market. Guided by your mentor, y ou will learn the details of hyperscale data centre designs and assist implementing the client’s stringent Building Management System (BMS) philosophies into reality. By working with experienced engineers and working closely with the client’s technical leads, you will gradually take on more responsibility . This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious engineer to receive training , learn from industry experts, and build a long-term career working on some of the largest data centre builds in Europe.

Role Responsibilities

• Support the production of designs and specifications for new build mechanical and electrical installations in many building types, within complex technology-based buildings where close control and extensive monitoring systems are required .
• Produce points lists for Control Systems
• Write Sequence of Operation documents from review of MEP designs and through discussion and agreement with design engineers.
• Produce specifications from templates, software specification writing tools and from fresh where necessary.
• Produce plan drawings, schematics, network topology drawings and control function diagrams as required to suit project needs.
• Produces early-stage reports for sign off by clients during development of designs.
• Be able to review Contractor’s engineering proposals for compliance with the design specifications and any relevant regulations.
• Carry out condition surveys and reviews of existing installations. Produce reports and improvement plans.
• Represents Company at technical meetings with customers, professional teams and Contractor teams.
• Specify and attend Factory Acceptance Tests, Site Acceptance Tests and Integrated Systems Tests.
• Specify and attend commissioning activities during construction and completion of projects

Role Requirements

• Grado or Máster en Ingeniería, plus equivalent professional experience
• Registered with a recognised Colegio Oficial de Ingenieros
• Working towards Chartered Engineer status or equivalent
• Currently employed as a BMS/BEMS/Building Automation Consulting Engineer
• Experience of building automation, instrumentation and monitoring systems.
• Understanding of networks, network hardware, cabling and network security
• Understanding and ability to support control system designs and report outputs
• Ability to keep clear and accurate records and reports
• Experience of attending meetings to discussing relevant skillset
• Knowledge of MS office (word/excel/outlook)
• Ability to prioritise own workload
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work to deadlines
• Ability to work well either alone or as part of a team
• Act in an ethical manner and follows the principles of the Ethics Charter and Ethics in Practice Guidelines
• 5+ Years’ experience at Senior Engineer level or above
• Adaptable, proactive approach to engineering tasks
• Flexible and willing to travel as required to service international projects and clients
• Good presentation skills
• Familiar with multiple vendors legacy and current products and keeps track of new and emerging products and technologies
• Supports the commercial management of projects and fees
• Ability to work autonomously, as part of a wider team, and leading a team
• Good knowledge and working application of applicable Spanish health and safety legislation
• Ability to use IT based calculation and spreadsheet software
• Good working knowledge of leading control systems products, networks and systems including those provided by schneider, siemens and trend.
• Support the delivery of projects in accordance with the expectations of the RED Project Delivery Process from a Project Management, Financial Management, QA/QC and Technical Review perspective.
• Good understanding of Spanish, European and applicable international standards, regulations and codes
• An appreciation of ATEX regulations.
• Background in consulting or construction preferred.
• Good understanding of international working and business operations of a global consultancy.
• Act in an ethical manner and follow the principles of the Ethics Charter and
• Ethics in Practice Guidelines of the Group
