RED ENGINEERING DESIGN LIMITED in Madrid is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Data Centres) to lead the mechanical design and coordination of building services for medium-size projects in the data centre sector.

You will work from our Madrid office, liaising with clients and project teams, delivering robust designs, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and supporting trainees and engineers under the RED project delivery process.

Formación

• Registered with a recognised Colegio Official de Ingenieros.
• Working towards Chartered Eng status or equivalent.
• Competent in specification design/drawing for several building types.
• Sound knowledge of key Health and Safety issues and legislation.
• Knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel).
• Ability to use IT-based calculation and spreadsheet software.
• Good understanding of BS standards.
• Ability to prioritise own workload.
• Ability to work to deadlines.
• Experience in a consulting or construction environment.

Responsabilidades

• Run medium-sized projects and lead the development, design and coordination of mechanical services.
• Develops and specifies control systems for building services.
• Surveys tests and reports on existing installations.
• Specifies activities to ensure manufacturing, construction, installation and testing meet requirements.
• Daily liaison with clients and project teams; provide progress updates.
• Represent the company at technical meetings with customers and contractors.
• Produce engineering calculations ensuring drawings meet standards.
• Provide technical content guidance to trainees and engineers.
• Support project delivery per RED processes (quality, cost, schedule).

We now seek a Senior Mechanical Engineer to be based out of our Madrid office.

Role Responsibilities

• Responsible for running of medium size projects. Undertakes a client facing role in the development and design and coordination of engineering project services for Mechanical or Electrical installations, systems, equipment, facilities etc.
• Develops and specifies applications of controls, instruments, and operating systems for all building engineering services purposes
• Surveys tests and reports on existing electrical/mechanical installations
• Specifies activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing confirm to functional specifications and customer requirements
• Day to day decision making on project progress and direct liaison with and provides advice to client
• Represents Company at technical meetings with customers, professional teams and contractors teams
• Carries out engineering calculations to ensure drawings meet required robust industry and legal standards
• Responsible for technical content and accuracy of Trainee, Graduates and Engineers
• Validation and checking of designs and specifications
• Support the delivery of projects in accordance with the expectations of the RED Project Delivery Process from a Project Management, Financial Management, QA/QC and Technical Review perspective.

Role Requirements

• Registered with a recognised Colegio Oficial de Ingenieros
• Working towards Chartered Eng status or equivalent
• Competent in specification design/drawing for several building types
• Sound knowledge of key Health and Safety issues and legislation
• Knowledge of MS Office applications word, excel etc
• Ability to use IT based calculation and spreadsheet software
• Good understanding of BS standards
• Ability to prioritise own workload
• Ability to work to deadlines
• Managerial Skills
• Background in consulting or construction preferred.
• Good understanding of international working and business operations of a global consultancy.
