Job summary

Cint is seeking a Senior BI Data Architect to lead the evolution of our data platform. This role is a remote-from-Spain fixed-term contract (6-8 months) at the intersection of data engineering and business intelligence, shaping how the business operates at scale.

You will own the Databricks Lakehouse design, migrate complex legacy SQL into governed pipelines, and build a semantic layer powering self-service analytics in Omni.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in Data Engineering or Data Architecture.
• Expert-level SQL and distributed computing; diagnose slow queries.
• Migration experience from Snowflake/Redshift/SQL Server to Lakehouse.
• Delta Live Tables or Spark pipelines experience.
• Dimensional modeling for Lakehouse environments.
• Unity Catalog governance and permissions management.
• Delta Lake internals optimization (OPTIMIZE, VACUUM, etc.).
• Familiarity with Omni or similar BI semantic layers.
• CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions or similar.
• Systems thinking to design reusable, scalable pipelines.
• Ability to convey complex trade-offs to non-tech leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical evolution of our data platform for 6-8 months Fixed-Term Contract.
• Hands-on architecture at the intersection of data engineering and BI.
• Own design and implementation of the Databricks Lakehouse and migrate legacy SQL.
• Build the semantic layer powering self-service analytics in Omni.
• Design Unity Catalog structure for a governed data environment.
• Migrate business logic from legacy systems to unified Lakehouse.
• Architect the transformation framework with open-source tooling.
• Act as the resident query performance expert and optimize Spark plans.
• Govern compute footprint with Z-Ordering, partitioning, and Serverless SQL.
• Build CI/CD pipelines to automate testing and deployment of models.
• Collaborate with Finance, Sales, Product, Marketing, and Trust & Safety.
• Translate metrics into clear leadership recommendations.
