Job summary

Affie in Spain is seeking a software engineer to own and deliver quarterly goals for your team, leading engineers through ambiguity to solve open‑ended problems, and ensuring that everyone is supported throughout delivery. You will collaborate with product, design and analytics to articulate constraints, define a technical plan for major features, write high quality code, and push for safe changes in a large codebase.

This role includes an on‑call rotation and remote work from Spain.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• Experience designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale with Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL and Kubernetes.
• Experience shipping frontend applications.
• Ability to define a technical plan for major feature delivery with an elegant design.
• Ability to safely implement significant changes in a large codebase with tooling.
• Proactive growth mindset and strong communication with global teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication for cross‑functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver quarterly goals for your team, guiding engineers through ambiguity.
• Collaborate with product, design & analytics during ideation and decision making.
• Proactively identify issues and lead efforts to resolve them.
• Support operations and maintenance of team artifacts with metrics and on‑call readiness.
• Set and improve code review and design standards beyond your team.
• Develop talent through feedback and example leadership.
• On‑Call Rotation - participate as a required duty.
