Lingo is building a cutting-edge digital health platform where real-time biosensor data and high-performance backend engineering power actionable health insights. This Senior Backend Engineer role focuses on scalable microservices, secure APIs, and resilient data flows across global deployments.

You will collaborate with Product, Mobile, Platform/SRE, and Data/ML teams, mentor engineers, and contribute to architecture decisions while ensuring privacy and compliance across systems.

Formación

• 5-8 years of backend engineering experience with distributed, cloud-native systems.
• Strong skills in microservices architecture and API design (REST; GraphQL/gRPC a plus).
• Experience with Kubernetes in production environments and service meshes.
• Hands-on proficiency with messaging/streaming systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Programming expertise in Java, Kotlin, Python.
• Knowledge of secure coding practices and HIPAA/GDPR compliance.
• Understanding of performance optimization, scalability, and async data processing.
• Strong collaboration and cross-functional communication abilities.

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices and APIs for real-time biosensor data processing.
• Implement event-driven integrations with messaging/streaming systems and analytics pipelines.
• Collaborate with SRE to ensure observability, performance, and reliability across backend services.
• Participate in architecture and design reviews, defining service boundaries and data models.
• Optimize backend services for low latency, high throughput, and cost efficiency.
• Apply privacy-by-design and security standards in line with HIPAA/GDPR requirements.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code; uphold engineering standards.
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and pair programming.
• Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to incident response and post-mortems.
