ING is seeking a Software Engineer Backend to join the Spain team in Madrid. You will design, develop and test backend components, delivering production-ready software while upholding quality and performance standards. You will support production and collaborate to improve technical discipline across the squad.

The role emphasizes Java 8/11/17, Spring, microservices, and DevOps practices in a hybrid work setting with ING Madrid offices and remote options. Strong English communication is required.

Qualifications

• Strong coding skills on Middleware layer: Java 8/11/17.
• Spring framework (Boot, MVC, Core, Security, Dependency Injection).
• Microservices: Hexagonal architecture; Patterns (Circuit Breaker, Api Gateway, Service Discovery); Feature Flags.
• Design Patterns, SOLID, Clean Code, Software Craftsmanship.
• Back End DevOps awareness (understand the global architecture/infrastructure).
• Testing: Unit Testing, integration and smoke; JUnit; Contract Testing; Mocks frameworks.
• Maven.
• Docker, Openshift or Kubernetes.
• Ansible.
• Git.
• DDD.
• CI/CD pipelines.
• DevOps skills.
• Azure (pipelines).
• 5 years of experience on similar tech stack.
• Agile team experience with SCRUM or Kanban or XP.
• Excellent speaking and writing skills in English is a must.
