N26 is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join the Platform Engineering Domain in the Experimentation team. The mission is to enable data-driven decisions for launching features and products, with A/B tests, feature flags, and frontend event tracking.

You will design, develop, test, deploy and maintain software in a cloud-hosted environment while collaborating with a Tech Lead to architect new features and ensure high quality across cross-functional teams.

Formación

• Significant experience with Java/Kotlin and Spring Boot in large-scale production systems.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, DDD, and testing practices.
• Full professional proficiency in English.
• Experience with cloud architectures, preferably AWS.

About the opportunity

We are seeking a talented Senior Backend Engineer to join the Platform Engineering Domain in the Experimentation team.

The mission of the Experimentation team is to enable N26 engineering teams to make data driven decisions when it comes to launching new features and products. The team offers products for executing A/B tests, managing Feature Flags and collecting Frontend Tracking events.

Our cross-functional teams are passionate about collaboration and sharing knowledge, as well as working with a high degree of autonomy.

As a Senior Backend Engineer at N26, you will be encouraged to embrace the latest technological updates and given a platform to work on complex, interesting problems on a daily basis.

As one of the first banks completely hosted in the cloud - our security, resilience and productivity standards require not only the use of a modern technology stack, but the building of teams in line with our principles and in the service of our product teams, the company and our customers.

In this role, you will:

• Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain software in a thriving environment.
• Collaborate closely with your Tech Lead on architecting new features and seeing them through to completion.
• Stay up to date with the latest trends in technology.
• Work within your cross-functional team to uphold the highest technical standards right across the product.

What you need to be successful:

• Significant experience in developing software using Java/Kotlin and Spring Boot in large-scale production systems.
• Solid experience with software development best practices and software architectures (Distributed systems, Domain Driven Design, Testing).
• Full professional proficiency in English.
• Previous experience with cloud architectures, preferably with AWS.

Nice to have:

• Hands-on experience developing and/or operating event streaming platforms (preferably Kafka)
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
• Strong bias for action, and getting things done.
• Give and receive open, direct and timely feedback.
