N26 is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join the Customer Risk Lifecycle team, contributing to secure, scalable services across the platform. You will collaborate with a Tech Lead to design, implement and maintain features while mentoring teammates and upholding code quality.

English proficiency is required, with offices in Berlin and Barcelona. The role offers a modern cloud stack and vibrant, multinational collaboration.

Formación

• Experience developing software with a JVM language and Spring Boot in large-scale production systems.
• Strong understanding of microservice architectures.
• Knowledge of relational databases (Postgres) and some NoSQL experience is a plus.
• Experience working in cloud environments, preferably AWS.
• Full professional proficiency in English.

Responsabilidades

• Collaborate with the Tech Lead to architect and deliver new features end-to-end.
• Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain services in a production environment.
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and guidance.
• Keep up with trends and present findings during team sessions.
• Collaborate in cross-functional teams to uphold high technical standards across the product.

In This Role, You Will

• Collaborate closely with your Tech Lead on architecting new features and seeing them through to completion.
• Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain software in a thriving environment.
• Have opportunities to mentor junior members in the team by relentlessly guarding code quality through pull requests and helping them when they have questions.
• Stay up to date with the latest trends in technology and you are not afraid to propose some findings during our Get Stuff Done Days.
• Work within your cross-functional team to uphold the highest technical standards right across the product.

Skills & Background

What you need to be successful:

• Experience in developing software using a JVM language and Spring Boot in large-scale production systems (note: experience of Kotlin would be a plus).
• Sound understanding of microservice architecture.
• Knowledge of both relational and non-relational databases, preferably Postgres.
• Appreciation of working in a modern cloud architecture, preferably with AWS.
• Full professional proficiency in English.
