Qonto in Barcelona, Spain is seeking a Principal Backend Engineer to lead scale initiatives across Foundations domain. You will own end-to-end backend architecture for high-volume transactions, search, and monetization, partnering with Legal, Risk, and leadership to translate technical bets into business outcomes.

You'll mentor engineers, drive AI-native integrations, and shape the roadmap with autonomous, cross-team collaboration, delivering robust platforms that power millions of customers

Formación

• Experience designing and scaling high-volume backend systems.
• Proven ability to lead multi-team initiatives with business impact.
• Comfort working in ambiguous environments and driving initiatives without explicit directions.
• Experience mentoring engineers and enabling teams through programs and documentation.
• Familiarity with AI tools and AI-native integrations in software platforms.

Responsabilidades

• Anticipate and solve scale challenges across Foundations' core systems.
• Lead end-to-end programs spanning multiple teams and stakeholders.
• Identify investments for Foundations and translate bets into technical roadmaps.
• Mentor engineers and raise the bar for technical excellence.
• Bridge business goals with backend decisions and communicate clearly to execs.
