Descripción del empleo

WHO ARE WE?

Sateliot is a Barcelona-based startup in the New Space sector, becoming the first satellite telecommunications operator to provide global and continuous connectivity to all elements of the massive Internet of Things (IoT) universe under the 5G protocol.

To achieve this, Sateliot is launching a constellation of next-generation nanosatellites, located at low altitude, acting as mobile towers. Sateliot complements large telecommunications companies by providing infrastructure where terrestrial technologies do not reach.

YOUR MISSION

As a Senior Avionics Engineer, you will join the Flight Avionics Team, collaborating with multidisciplinary engineers to evolve Sateliot's space capabilities and deliver the first and best NB-IoT NTN service globally.

You will contribute to designing, implementing, and validating flight electronics and hardware. We seek a highly skilled electrical engineer with expertise in designing reliable high-speed electronic boards for satellite telecommunications applications, including experience with MCU/CPU, DSP/FPGA-based SoC modules, radiation tolerance, and electronics validation for space environments.

This role involves schematic design, PCB layout, and design reviews to ensure performance and reliability in space.

YOUR MAIN FUNCTIONS

  1. High-Speed Board Design: Develop reliable high-speed schematics and PCB layouts for satellite telecom applications.
  2. Understand MCU/CPU and DSP/FPGA SoC hardware architecture, including DDR memory and high-speed serial interfaces.
  3. Optimize signal integrity, power distribution, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).
  4. Component selection, worst-case analysis, and circuit simulations.
  5. Schematic & Layout Development and Review: Create detailed schematics, collaborate with PCB engineers, and ensure compliance with space standards.
  6. Radiation-Tolerant Design: Develop electronics with radiation-hardened components, implement mitigation techniques, and conduct radiation analysis.
  7. Testing & Validation: Perform environmental tests, functional testing, troubleshoot issues, and validate hardware performance.
  8. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with mechanical, thermal, and systems engineers, coordinate with manufacturers, and support system integration.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years experience in high-speed board design for aerospace or satellites.
  • Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB design tools (Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, Mentor Xpedition).
  • Expertise in high-speed digital design, FPGA/SoC systems, power supply design, and radiation-tolerant electronics.
  • Experience with thermal vacuum testing and space industry standards (ECSS, MIL-STD-883, NASA EEE-INST-002).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with SPICE simulations, radiation effects on electronics, automation tools, and satellite communication protocols.

WHAT YOU'LL FIND WHEN WORKING AT SATELIOT:

You will be part of a fast-growing startup with a global reach in New Space & Telecommunications, fostering openness, multiculturalism, health, and professional growth.

WHAT DO WE OFFER?

  • Full-time, permanent contract, hybrid work, flexible schedule.
  • Flat organizational structure, buddy program, flexible benefits, health insurance, and wellness facilities.
  • Dynamic, multidisciplinary, multicultural environment with career growth opportunities.
  • Participation in exciting space projects in Europe.
