Job summary

The Jewish Community Center of Greater Kansas City – “The J” is seeking a Senior Manager, Aquatics to lead aquatics operations, drive revenue, and ensure safety and exceptional member experiences. You will oversee managers, lifeguards and instructors, develop training programs, and manage budgets across indoor and outdoor facilities.

This role requires 4+ years in an aquatics leadership position, relevant certifications, and strong communication with a diverse community.

Qualifications

• 4+ years' experience as Director or Manager of an Aquatics program.
• 3+ years’ business development experience with a proven revenue growth record in aquatics or similar program.
• Certifications: Lifeguard Instructor Trainer (LGIT) and Water Safety Instructor Trainer (WSIT) or ability to obtain.
• Current CPR, AED and First Aid certifications, ARC Lifeguard/Instructor credentials.
• Knowledge of municipal aquatics programming for all ages and abilities.
• Ability to manage fiscal records and develop budgets.
• Strong leadership, planning, and time management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication for reports and policies.

Responsibilities

• Oversee aquatics managers, staffing and team development, ensuring safety and high customer service.
• Develop training systems and communication among staff across up to 140 employees in peak season.
• Manage financial performance, budgets, revenue forecasts and cost control.
• Lead cross-department collaboration to align aquatics with organizational goals.
• Identify opportunities for shared pool usage and program expansion.
• Ensure safety, compliance with regulations, and high-quality member experiences.
