Job summary

NN Digital Hub in Madrid seeks a Senior API Designer to shape enterprise integration across NN International. You will design scalable web services, define API governance, and advance the API Platform while collaborating with cross-country teams on insurance-focused integrations.

The role blends hands-on engineering with architectural influence, offering exposure to intelligent automation and modern integration patterns within an international insurance context.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in API design and development.
• Strong expertise in REST and SOAP web services.
• Proven experience with Azure PaaS services.
• Solid knowledge of Azure DevOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience with API Management platforms and API Governance frameworks.
• Strong understanding of integration architectures and mediation patterns.
• Experience implementing secure, resilient, and scalable solutions.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend service components integrated with Azure PaaS.
• Design and develop solutions within the API Platform and Mediation Layer initiatives of NN International.
• Define, implement, and promote API Governance standards across the organization.
• Design integration solutions leveraging APIs, Events, MCP, and modern integration patterns.
• Design robust, scalable, and reusable web service solutions considering both business and technical requirements.
• Develop and maintain REST and SOAP services.
• Improve and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
• Ensure quality, security, observability, and reliability throughout the application lifecycle.
• Promote DevOps best practices and cloud engineering standards.
